Rebuilding Together Thanks you.

Recent News & Events

A Thank you to two local companies: RTMC would like to recognize and thank Parrish Services and Gaithersburg Air and Heating for helping two Montgomery County families in need. Parrish Services worked on a home in Silver Spring this December. They replaced a furnance and provided fuel oil for this family, keeping them war over the holidays. Check out the story featured on channel 9 news.

Gaithersburg Air and Heating worked on multiple projects between November and December. They donated over $500 in HVAC system repairs. Many thanks to Richard Biava and everyone at Gaithersburg Air and Heating.

Thank you again Parrish Services and Gaithersburg Air and Heating!

A Note from Senior Minister, Dyke McCord, of the Church of Christ at Manor Woods:  One of the members in our church introduced us to Rebuilding Together five years ago.  Since then, our Rebuilding Together project day has become one of the greatest ways we've found to connect with and impact our community.  We have the ability to raise funds and bring together a core of volunteers, with RTMC matching our gifts and talents with the needs in the community.  We get to improve, upgrade and repair a house in the neighborhood with no strings attached, allowing our members to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our world.  The results are overwhelming.  RTMC does the legwork.  Materials are contributed.  Services are donated.  We get to serve.  The neighborhood is enhanced.  Hearts are touched.  Smiles broaden and tears of joy flow.  Our hearts are deeply touched and everyone involved is richly blessed.  We can't wait for the next opportunity!

Adopt a House for Project Day ’09!The April project day sponsorship packets have been mailed. If your company, organization or faith based community did not receive a sponsorship packet and would like to sponsor a home in April, please let RTMC know!

AmeriCorps Service Week in the Gulf: RTMC’s two AmeriCorps members, Ana Cimino an dBill Kauffman, will be spending the week of January 18th-January 24th, along with their fellow AmeriCorps Capacity Corps members, in Acadiana, Louisiana. The group will be making repairs on homes still in disarray from hurricane Katrina.

Fire Safety in the home –Safety in the home is one of the important goals of RTMC, so we would like to share a segment on Fire Safety brought to us by the TODAY show and Montgomery County Interim Fire Chief Richard Bowers.  The purpose of the segment was to show residents how to respond to house fires in order to ensure safety of families members.

The segment can be seen on the Montgomery County website blog at: http://mcfrs.blogspot.com/2008/12/surviving-house-fire.html
