This is an excerpt from a speech given at our wrap-up breakfast by one of the homeowners Rebuilding Together helped this year. We believe it puts words to the gratitude so many homeowners feel for all of you who helped with Project Day 2002:

"If one day I have to sell the house, it will hurt me, this small house of mine, is a big box with the most expensive treasures in the world in it, because it holds all of the memories of mine. In this house, I was happy. And now after all these wonderful people have done for me, I believe that God, had duplicated his blessings and my very good memories.

Don't think that I am living here alone, because now whenever I go into the house, all I see are the many, many hands on my walls and many kind smiling faces in every room, these are the hands and faces of all of you that came to help me.

I will never forget any of you! God does not do the jobs himself, but through people like you. You call yourselves volunteers, but I tell you, all of you are "Ambassadors of Heaven". My old age has started with happiness, I will be a happy and grateful and all because of you.
